About Hannah’s Journey to Homesteading
Hello and welcome! I’m Hannah, a first generation homesteader, mom, and former mental health therapist with a passion for bridging traditional skills with modern living. My homesteading journey began in my parents’ backyard, where I dug out a small garden with a simple shovel and a big dream. Since then, I’ve expanded to a cozy homestead called Little Creek Homestead, where I raise chickens and goats, grow our food, and focus on sustainable living.
With a master’s degree in psychology and years of experience working as a therapist, I’ve seen firsthand how grounding and healing a connection with the land can be. I’ve also seen what can happen when we forget to connect with the beauty around us. Here, I share my insights on how homesteading can boost emotional resilience, help us live more balanced lives, and create a sanctuary in our homes — without the need for perfection.
I spent years building a career, going to school, attending trainings, only to realize what I truly wanted was a life rooted in home, family, and the land. Homesteading isn’t just a change in lifestyle–it’s a return to myself.

At Little Creek Homestead, I believe that homesteading doesn’t have to be about having acres of land or a picture-perfect farm. It’s about learning skills that bring us closer to earth, like growing our food, preserving seasonal produce, and embracing the rhythms of nature. Through my blog, I aim to make these skills accessible to anyone, regardless of where you live or the resources you have. You’ll find practical guidance, thoughtful discussions, and a touch humor there, along with encouragement to make small, meaningful changes toward a more intentional, connected lifestyle.
Whether you’re just starting your homesteading journey or looking for ways to deepen your connection to natural living, I’m here to support and inspire you. Let’s build a more balanced, sustainable life together.
