- 2 c warm water
- 1 tbsp dry active yeast
- ¼ c honey
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tsp salt
- 5 c all purpose flour
Activate the yeast; Mix 2 c warm water, 1 tbsp dry active yeast, and ¼ c of honey together in the mixing bowl. Let sit until active and bubbly, about 5 mintues.
In the mixer, add 3 tbsp melted butter, 2 tsp salt, and 5 c of flour. Mix until dough is pulling off the sides of the bowl.
Let it rise in the bowl for 1 hour.
Punch down and form into 2 loaves. Cut dough ball into two equal parts. Roll out to a rough rectangle shape as wide as your loaf pan. Roll up and place into the buttered loaf pans
Let rise for another hour.
Bake at 350℉ for 30 min.
Tips for the perfect sandwich bread:
- Check your yeast: Fresh, active yeast is key to a good rise. If your yeast doesn't form after 10 minutes, try a new packet.
- Kneading: The dough should be smooth and elastic. I need with my kitchenaid and dough hook for about 6-8 minutes. Until the dough is nicely pulled off the sides of the bowl.
- Storage: Store leftover bread in the fridge for maximum freshness. You can also freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
